Übersicht

As Specialist Ocean Freight you will ensure the smooth and timely processing of export shipments, while maintaining accurate documentation of all procedures and processes. You will support and advise customers, carry out customs clearance, and handle correspondence with customers, agents, and service providers. You will prepare offers, follow up on quotations, conduct sales negotiations, and ensure correct invoicing. In this role you will monitor deadlines, manage general organizational and administrative tasks, and process Dangerous Goods shipments in full compliance with applicable regulations. You will also contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by reporting any unsafe or unhealthy conditions and suggesting improvements.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Manage and coordinate international ocean export shipments from booking through invoicing.
• Prepare and process export, customs, and shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and Letters of Credit.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, agents, and service providers to ensure timely and efficient shipment execution.
• Provide customer support, prepare quotations, and advise customers on transport solutions.
• Ensure compliance with customs, dangerous goods, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support process improvements and maintain high service quality standards.
  
  

Qualifikationen

• Ideally 2 years of experience in Ocean freight forwarding in an international environment
• In‑depth knowledge of customs procedures and air transport regulations
• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail and the capacity to manage priorities in a dynamic setting
• Comfortable using freight forwarding software and the MS Office Suite
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Knowledge of CargoWise software would be an advantage
