Airbus Operations GmbH is looking for an “Head of Site Security (d/f/m) Bremen” for the “Physical Security” department as soon as possible.
We are a multifunctional team with a comprehensive security portfolio. We protect our employees, our property, and our products through the application of technical, personnel, and organizational security measures. Furthermore, we act as the interface to various external government and government-related organizations for Airbus.
The department is organizationally linked to Corporate Security and reports directly to Corporate Headquarters in Toulouse.
Corporate Security is responsible for various sites within the framework of Corporate Security's Functional Network Framework (FNF).

This is our core mission. It requires us to focus inward to protect all Airbus assets using a
risk-based approach, but also to guide it, together with Divisions and Airbus’ functions, when it
comes to Security compliance, business opportunities or in times of crisis. We must always focus first on protecting Airbus’ employees, workplaces, information systems, data, industrial assets, supply chain, and of course our products and services, especially where Security can have people's safety impacts. To do so, our federated model needs to be strengthened and priorities need to be adapted to the capabilities of federated functions.
As Site Security Manager, you will be responsible for areas of the security portfolio relevant to the Bremen site and its companies. The content is primarily based on regulatory (European, federal, and state) and internal corporate guidelines and requirements. Furthermore, you will assume the role of on-site Security Officer for Airbus Operations in terms of Secret Act.
Your Responsibilities
You will report to the Head of Physical Security Germany and have a strong operational proximity to the Corporate Security Organization.

Your Responsibilities
- As Security Officer, you are the contact person for the Group Security Officer and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection regarding classified information topics at the Bremen Site.
- You are responsible to define, develop and control the implementation of security operations and related processes and projects throughout the Airbus Bremen site activities
- You ensure that all security risks are identified, reported and managed based on regular security assessments across the site
- You ensure the proper allocation and management of budgets and resources to cover all required security means
- You ensure that all security contingency plans are prepared, ready and tested at all sites. Participation in national & local crisis management board
- You develop and maintain close relationships with and act as focal point for local and national authorities concerning security matters and ensure that the Airbus Site in Bremen is compliant with all Federal, National & international security laws, rules and regulations.
- You promote, and continue to develop the physical security organization in Bremen and manage the local security workforce
- You inform without delay Corporate Security and / or the Functional Network Frame of any major security incidents that may impact people, the image, the aircraft production and establishes the related operating reports
- You are very familiar with the assets, industrial processes, logistics and supply chain of the site and develop a strong relationship with the facilities management team, site management, Airbus Security and other functions.
- You work closely with third party suppliers and other users of sites to ensure they act in accordance with the Airbus security policies and practices
- You develop awareness for specific national security regulations
- You ensure a smooth operation of security technology (e.g. access and video technology) and software
- You are responsible for the planning, specification, implementation and acceptance of new and existing security technology and software
- You will be participating in multi functional and divisional working groups and team efforts
- Strong stakeholder management among Airbus, and all Airbus Legal Entities who have a stake at the site in Bremen.
- Maintain, coordinate and ensure the services related to the content of all SLA’s related to Bremen.
- Manage a team of security officers on site directly. Lead large projects as part of extended multifunctional teams.
- Manage task and team prioritization to ensure the site roadmap is enabled for delivery.
- Be intimate with the assets, industrial processes, logistics and supply chain of the site and develop a strong relationship with the site management.
- Coordinate all activities with official external agencies to enhance the level of security and fire prevention of the site by aligning contingency, protection and intervention plans.
- Ensure that Security activities are managed and fully compliant with appropriate guidance and resulting processes are in place to sustain security risk management and ensure security events are managed, reported, investigated, assessed (impact & root cause), corrective and preventive actions are taken and recorded.
- Plan and undertake emergency and contingency planning exercises. In case of major events / disaster, lead the emergency and contingency first response operations.
- Manage, coordinate and deliver the supplied services covering the activities from the Site Specification and the Site Security Plan.
- Promote the awareness of security on the site and in participation and coordination with Company Security awareness activities. Inspire innovative Security solutions working together with team members, drive deployment and delivery on time entry into service.
- As a manager you will belong to the leadership community, which is the driving force of the organisation. You will be expected to lead by example and as such we expect you to:
- Lead multifunctional teams
- Personally communicate face to face on a regular basis
- Maintain visual performance management system
- Personally support and adhere to Airbus processes and standards in relation to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People. You will be invited to Management Workshops and communication briefings, which you will be expected to attend.
- Support and coordinate the Crisis Management Team (CMT) Bremen
- Engage with the Security Network of Industrial partners and neighbors in Bremen and Lower Saxony
- Good understanding of needs and requirements of an industrial production organization
- Master or Bachelor in Security Management
- A strong background in Security Management with experience in Corporate Security of the commercial or industrial sector is essential.
- Proven leadership skills of local and remote teams
- Crisis management experience
- Good understanding of the technical architecture relative to security systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with an ability to analyse and assess complex issues.
- Complementary skills in risk management and emergency planning is essential.
- Language: German language to native speaker level and fluent English - French would be a plus
- Must be able to pass european civil aviation enhanced vetting and training
- The position is subject to regulatory controls and or security clearance including caveats.
- Certain programs / projects impose specific restrictions due to Export Control requirements and successful accreditation is required.
