This site, located on the outskirts of the Hanseatic city of Bremen in north-west Germany, has specialised in the development and manufacture of the upper stage of the Ariane launchers since the start of the programme. Its experts are responsible for the design, development and final integration of the Ariane 6 upper stage. They are also developing the Astris Kick Stage, an additional upper stage powered by the future reignitable bi-propellant engine called Berta, which will further enhance Ariane 6’s versatility. The Bremen site also produces metal tanks for the orbital propulsion systems.

- Support in the development of internal simulation software:
- Working with multi-process environment, with multiple packages and libraries
- Improve application architecture and extensibility to new domains
- Improvement of data acquisition and representation of simulation results
- Support modernization of legacy systems, including the creation of Python packages
- Support development of CI/CD pipelines for new and existing software
Minimum requirements:
- Enrolled student in the field of software engineering or a comparable engineering degree, in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.
- Proven practical programming experience in C/C++ and Python (e.g. through projects, internships or courses)
- Familiarity with Git version control
- Fluent English communication skills
- Basic knowledge of parallel environments, e.g. multi-process environments, threading
- Basic knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Basic knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
- Ability to write clean code
- GitHub or other public repositories with demonstrated software projects
- Experience in developing simulation applications
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and GitLab, Bitbucket
